Omemee Fatal Accident: Three Dead, Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Motorcycles and Car in Omemee, Ontario

OMEMEE, Ont. — A devastating multi-vehicle collision on Highway 7 in the Kawartha Lakes town of Omemee has left three people dead and two others injured following a crash involving four motorcycles and a passenger vehicle on Saturday.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), emergency crews were called to the scene near the intersection of Highway 7 and New Heights Road after reports of a serious collision involving multiple motorcycles and a car. When first responders arrived, they found a chaotic and severe crash scene requiring immediate medical attention for several individuals.

Authorities confirmed that the driver of the passenger vehicle and two motorcyclists were pronounced dead as a result of the collision. Another motorcyclist was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious, while a fifth individual also sustained injuries and received medical treatment. Their current condition has not been publicly released.

Investigators say the crash involved significant impact between the motorcycles and the vehicle, though the exact sequence of events leading up to the collision remains under active investigation. Police have not yet released details regarding the identities of those involved, pending notification of next of kin.

The roadway was closed for several hours as collision reconstruction teams examined the scene, documented evidence, and worked to determine the factors that may have contributed to the crash. Traffic in the area was diverted while emergency personnel continued their work.

Residents in the Omemee area expressed shock at the severity of the incident, noting that Highway 7 is a frequently traveled route for both local traffic and motorcyclists, particularly during warmer months.
