Carlos Rodriguez Jr Charged: San Antonio Man Arrested After Allegedly Crashing Vehicle Into Former Partner’s Car, Charged With Aggravated Assault

A San Antonio man has been arrested and faces an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge following an incident in which he allegedly crashed his vehicle into that of his former partner, according to authorities.

Police identified the suspect as Carlos Rodriguez Jr., who was taken into custody in connection with an April 26 incident that occurred on Marbach Road near the Marbach Oaks area. An arrest affidavit states that Rodriguez is accused of violating an active protective order during the encounter.

According to investigators, Rodriguez allegedly followed a woman with whom he previously had a dating relationship. During the incident, he is said to have attempted to get her attention by yelling for her to “talk to him” as she drove in the area.

The affidavit further states that the woman pulled into a parking lot near Marbach Oaks, where Rodriguez allegedly followed her vehicle. He then reportedly exited his own car and demanded that she step out of hers.

After the confrontation, Rodriguez allegedly returned to his vehicle and intentionally struck the woman’s vehicle, causing a collision that resulted in injuries. The woman reported experiencing pain in her neck, back, stomach, and chest following the incident.

A female passenger who was also inside the vehicle at the time of the crash was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Medical officials reported that she suffered a bump to the head, along with bruising to her hand and knee.

Authorities confirmed that Rodriguez was arrested and formally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Law enforcement officials have not released additional details regarding his court proceedings or bond status.

The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to review evidence and statements related to the alleged violation of the protective order and the events leading up to the crash.

Officials remind the public that cases involving protective orders and alleged domestic-related violence are taken seriously and are subject to ongoing legal review as proceedings continue.
